About Exploring Light Photography
Driven by a passion for travel, my interest lies in nature and landscape photography.
My goal is to capture a still image that accurately conveys the spirit and drama of the landscape. Unlike the precise control of studio photography, nature photography places me at complete mercy of the land: the weather, the light, and the subject matter. While mostly I work to transform these variables into a powerful experience, I thrive for the fleeting moments when the elements of a great photo fall into place naturally. Photography has given me a deeper appreciation for these elements, and respect for the mystical forces of nature that allow such harmony to occur.
In the words of Dorothea Lang, "The camera is an instrument that teaches us to see without a camera."
Chris Moore was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2002, Chris took in impulsive 6 week trip, alone, to Australia which changed his life. He developed a fondness of travel, and has since been on many excursions around the globe, including one trip back to the South Pacific where he met his wife. Experiencing the mystic quality of nature first hand evolved into an interest in photography, where he continues to work at capturing the essence and spirit of nature.
Chris lives in Orange Park, Florida, with his wife, Mehgan, and daughter, Katelyn. He is a member of the Nature Photographers Network, North American Nature Photography Association, League of Creative Infrared Photographers, and an active contributor to the Digital Grin photography forum. His photos have been featured on several sites including Earth Shots, Singh Ray, and NANPA.<p>You can follow his blog, In Focus.
